Frequently Asked Questions

Got a question? We've got answers. If you have some other questions, contact us using email.

Unless specified otherwise, our minimum group size is 4 and we will not exceed 10-12 guests on the majority of tours. We are also proud of the ratio between instructors and guests. We try to keep the guest/instructor ratio at a maximum of 6:1, so more guests will mean more instructors. If a photo tour requires smaller vehicles (e.g. Land Cruisers), our rule is to have a maximum of three guests per vehicle to provide ample space.

You don't need to be an accomplished photographer to come on one of our tours. We're proud to be able to accommodate groups with intermediate to advanced skill levels. We are always there to answer questions and personally share our knowledge. Most learning will take place in the field and our good instructor/guest ratio helps make sure that everyone will receive the highest level of attention.

Absolutely! Read the description and itinerary of our tours. You will see that the tours would work equally well for photographers as well as non-photographers. As we take you to some of the most amazing locations at times of the day that ensure the best photo opportunities, those places will be memorable no matter if experienced with a camera or by just being there.

The accommodations we provide are dependent on the location. We try to book medium to high end accommodations wherever available. We want your stay to be comfortable and memorable. With the small group sizes, we try to go for boutique hotels most of the time. However, taking you to special photo locations that are more on the secret side and off the beaten path can also mean that sometimes accommodations might be a bit simpler. If at all possible, we will let you know regarding this in advance, before you book.

Based on the type of tour and our destination, a tour might sell out up to a year in advance of the scheduled date. We recommend you book early to avoid disappointment. If you need more time to make your decision, please contact Chris Marquardt and we'll do our best to reserve a spot for you for a limited time.

Most of the guests that travel with us are regular folks like you and me. There are also couples and singles traveling with us and some people come with their friends. Many of the guests on our tours have either been referred to by previous travelers, they are repeat guests who traveled with us before or they have heard about our tours on one of Chris Marquardt's podcasts or on Leo Laporte's Tech Guy Radio Show. We also send a very infrequent newsletter to inform about future tours and other things that go on in our universe. Usually we already know several (sometimes most) of the guests who travel with us and if not, they become part of our family soon enough. With a warm and welcoming bunch of travelers who are interested in photography, you will definitely feel at home in no time.

You can book a tour by pressing the "Book here" button on the tour you're interested in. After you filled in your details and sent off the form, Chris will get in touch with you regarding deposit and payment, among other things. Your place on the tour is confirmed once you made the deposit payment.
